Our clients came to us with a stately Dupont Circle home that had incredible bones but lacked function and personality. The goal was to create a cohesive home with a bit of drama! The first-floor space, including the entryway, dining room, and powder room, received a major dose of pattern play and dramatic colors to really make the historic elements, and our clients' personalities, shine!

Our Design Process & Challenges

For this Dupont Circle project, my clients wanted a home that was bold, moody, and undeniably theirs. The bones were gorgeous, but the space lacked a distinct point of view—a presence that made you stop and take it all in. That became our mission.

We started by understanding not just their style but how they wanted to live in the space. The result? A rich palette of deep hues, layered textures, and dynamic patterns that create both drama and warmth. Regular check-ins kept us aligned, especially when balancing statement design with real-life function.

One of the biggest challenges? Working with the quirks of a historic home—keeping its stately beauty intact while weaving in more modern elements. Another? Maximizing function and storage (because, honestly, who ever has enough?).

The solution: a custom-built storage bench in the entryway that adds both practicality and polish. Smart carpentry and intentional details helped us amplify the home’s magic while making it as livable as it is striking.

Bold & Effortlessly Luxurious

The final design is bold, immersive, and impossible to ignore. Walls in Benjamin Moore Iron Ore set the stage—deep, moody, and endlessly chic—while Temperley London’s statement wallpaper injects a high-fashion edge that dials up the drama.

To seamlessly blend old and new, we reupholstered the dining chairs in more Temperley London fabric, giving them a fresh, luxe feel while keeping their original charm.

The clients’ existing cabinets? We transformed them into custom built-ins, proving that great design isn’t just about adding—it’s about elevating what’s already there. Every detail, from the layered textiles to the statement paint, was curated to make the space feel artful yet inviting.

But my favorite part? The way it all interacts, creating a home that feels effortlessly luxurious, deeply personal, and unapologetically bold—because great design should always feel like you.

A Home That Wows

My clients were thrilled with the transformation! This is a space they now feel truly proud of—especially when guests walk in and the first word out of their mouths is “WOW!!!!” More than just aesthetics, the design finally reflects their personality while making their home more functional and intuitive. Proof that bold choices don’t just look good—they work.
